About Reclamation

“It is rare for an artist to display such maturity on a debut release, but this album certainly marks the beginning of Hayes’s career, because I can’t imagine an artist with such creative compositions, strong voice and guitar skills could get lost in the crowd. Anyone who loves great guitar work should own this CD, as it is apparent to me that it is indeed the best debut of 2010.”  -Twoj Blues, Poland

“Scorching gutsy guitar work, pounding piano, clean vocals and  strong songs that leave you gasping for breath and craving more. Brilliant!”   -Rootstime, The Netherlands

“Every year there seems to be at least one great guitar album that comes out and just slaps me full in the face and makes me take notice. This year it’s the Vincent Hayes Project. Reclamation just may be one of the most enjoyable albums I have heard all year long.

What great songwriting and musicianship. Terrific rhythm section, killer keyboard players, superb guitar playing and well-written lyrics. These guys are smokin’ start to finish. Vincent Hayes can work those strings in spades. There is just nothing not to like about this disc. A follow-up cannot come quick enough for me!”

-Greg Johnson, Cascade Blues Association

“Inspired, persuasively pensive guitar work that might even cause Clapton to raise an eyebrow in appreciation. Two thumbs up!” -Gary von Tersch, Big City Rhythm & Blues

"This is a CD that you must have in your collection!"

-Review The Blues, the Netherlands

"Great bass leads, hot percussion, and zealous organ. Had me holding my breath. Absolutely amazing work."

-Peter "Blewzzman" Lauro, Mary 4 Music

“Honest, sensitive blues, played with passion from a point of desperation with the huge intensity that should be required of any band to play the blues. GREAT.”

Vicente’ Zumel, La Hora del Blues

"I'm digging these tunes of yours! Everything I've
heard from it is a winner. It's a smoker!"
Pat St. John, B.B. King’s Bluesville, Sirius/XM

“Vincent Hayes approaches the blues with both energy and tasteful skill. This guy is a real killer blues player!”

Vicente’ Zumel, La Hora del Blues

“Hayes is an excellent guitarist and vocalist and the band is equally impressive in support.  Reclamation is an exceptional set of modern blues.”

-Graham Clarke, Blues Bytes

“He is an excellent guitarist who can cover all parts
of the blues repertoire with ease.”
John Mitchell, Blues Blast

“Brilliant, cliché’ free lyrics”

Gary von Tersch, Big City Rhythm & Blues

“(there is) a realism to the band that you soon learn applies to everything that they do. The lyrics aren't forced, and neither is the playing. The music is natural.”   -Fulltime Blues

“Few musicians these days can sustain that inner aura of moodiness that is at the core of the blues for ten minutes on even one album cut-here Hayes does it twice.”

Gary von Tersch, Big City Rhythm & Blues

“Reclamation is a thoroughly modern blues album, but not a stale blues-rock album. The results speak for themselves: Alves and Hugley form an air-tight unit that backs Hayes with a loose, funky groove, and Hayes proves to be a dexterous axe man whose charisma and love for the music shine strong throughout the disc.”

Living Blues Magazine October 2010

"Man, I like what you guys do!" -Steve Miller

The playing throughout the entire disc is solid, but the way Hugley kills on the skins as "Middle Man" hits its climax is phenomenal!"        -Johnny Fulltime, Full-time Blues

"Monster guitar player. I'm in Heaven! The musicianship is stellar throughout.  You better trust me on this one and go get yourself a copy!  10 out of 10"

-Ron Hoerter, Great Northern Blues Society

“Full of energy from start to finish! The guitar tone is delicious!”

-Recoil Magazine

"The story of the Project is great & I really enjoyed
"I've Got A Right To Change My Mind", the 1st track
I played. You will definitely work your way into the Living Blues
Top 25 in June & after that."

-Roy Prescott, Blues Summit, WMWV,
95.3 North Conway, New Hampshire

Just listened to the disc and have to say that you should be quite proud of the accomplishment. From the vocals, songs, and organic Midwestern grit you are laying down (not to mention the ultra fine artwork) sounds like you've got a winner. Congrats on a fine release."

“This is the first material that I have heard from this band and it is an impressive collection…All the tracks are written by Vince himself and there are some strong songs here…The sound quality on the CD is excellent and the playing consistently good. The rhythm section is immaculate throughout "

-John Mitchell, Blues Blast Magazine

"Amazing stuff!" -WGVU 88.5 FM Grand Rapids, MI

"Finally, a complete blues work of the 21st century that is worthy of the genre. From the smooth tones, subtle harmonies, classical blues riffs and nuanced nouveau flavors crossing the entire blues spectrum, this is a must own CD for the serious blues lover. I bought it, put it in my car, and was 20 minutes late for an appointment as I sat until it was done. The Vincent Hayes Project pushed the envelope on this one, and it will rise to the top quickly. Thanks, guys...for the biggest musical treat I have encountered in years!"

-David Beighley, Fan on CDbaby.com

"I have heard Vincent Hayes by himself and with the Project and have always enjoyed their sound. This new CD, Reclamation, is outstanding. The addition of the keyboard was a great move and adds a good sound to an already great band. Buy this CD and you will not be sorry you did. It’s been the only sound coming from my iPod since I got a week ago and is one of a very few CD's I own that I really like every track on it."

"Congratulations on the release of your new CD “Reclamation” and on your wonderful performance here at the Dogwood Center!  You had us totally captivated with your great stage presence and original tunes…it was an unforgettable blues experience.  And, you generated enough electricity to light up this whole town!

We’ve had tremendously positive feedback from the audience and the only question is, “when will they be back?”

Every song on the new CD is worth listening to again and again!"  Thank you.

Positively,

“I bought this album just over a month ago and it hasn't been off my playist since. It is absolutely fantastic stuff with no tracks being filler or a throwaway. I have being listening to blues now for 30 years and have many albums by the classic blues kings such as BB King, Muddy, Freddy King,Albert King etc and more contemporary artists like Robert Cray, Joe LouisWalker, Magic Slim etc. This album stands alongside the work of these contemporary guys, its riveting stuff and stands for repeated plays. The guitar work is great with a very tight rhythm section. I really like this band and cant wait till they come to the UK so I can get a chance to see them. Hats off to one of the best blues albums of 2010.”
